wedding, a new home, and Hawaii
Hi everyone! So, Nick and I made it safely to LA after the wedding. The car ride back home was a rather unpleasant one considering that Kitty wouldn't go to sleep and decided to walk around the entire car in order to see everything that she could see...i have a few cat scratches from her as momentos of our trip. The wedding was really fun; there was a lot of dancing, drinking, and enjoyment by all the guests. We did have to go ringless for a few weeks because we went back to Tiffany's in order to get the rings engraved. It took a while to think of stuff to engrave into our rings, so we went with lyrics from Kylie's "love at first sight," specifically, Nick's ring says "love a first sight" and mine says "we were meant to be as one." I originally wanted "and everything went from wrong to right," but that would have been a bit too long to engrave into the ring. But, we got the rings last friday, so now we have our rings.
Last monday, we placed an offer on a new place down here in the Santa Monica area, and we got the word that the offer was accepted by the builder. It's a loft in the Marina del rey area...hopefully about a 15-20 minute drive to work, which is reasonable. It's a very big, open loft space with a lot of creative potential. We're not quite sure when the move-in date will be, but we hope to move in sometime early next month. However, this means that we need to deal with the kirkland house. No one's made an offer on it yet, and it looks like we might have to lower our asking price, but we'll talk to our realtor about that this weekend.
Right now, Nick and i are in Hawaii with Erin and Kelly, Emily and Joshua, and Erin and Kelly's friend, Bill and Andrea. We've done quite a lot on the big island: walking around Volcanoes National Park, lying in the swimming pool and tanning, shopping, kayaking and seeing dolphins, and taking part in a luau. Tomorrow's our last full day and I think we're just going to lounge around and do some last minute shopping. I also want to get in a good tanning session 'cuz I want to get a little darker before I return to LA. But it's been a lot of fun just sitting and relaxing and not doing work.
And that's the short version of what's happened since the wedding. Hope all of you are doing well!
