bowling and stuff

Hi! So it's been a couple of weeks since I last updated, but life hasn't been that interesting. Nick had a presentation that went very, very well. I moved from my cubicle to an office today (I feel so important).

Actually, we do have exciting news to announce. Nick and I bought our wedding rings from Tiffany's and we both really like them, which is a good thing 'cuz we'll have to wear them...forever. We also got me a suit for the wedding that I'll have to pick up this weekend from Barney's.

Over this past weekend, Nick and I and a bunch of our friends went bowling. I won the first game, but James crushed us all in the second game, getting 4 strikes in a row at one point. The second game was very frustrating for me 'cuz i kept ketting 9 pins and missing the spare (this happened like 4-5 times). But I felt very consistent, and there are pictures somewhere, but I'll have to send y'all the URL later.

We then went to the Santa Monica pier, which was incredibly packed, most likely 'cuz school's out and all the children stayed up late to play games and ride the various rides. We played way too many midway games and lost a lot of money in the process, however, i did win a stupid keychain in skeeball, and I won a curious george doll in the "shoot the water in the hole" race. However, i didn't want the doll, so I gave it one of the women at work to give to her son.

Um...what else...?

I've decided to learn more html stuff, so hopefully I'll have a website up soon (i know i've promised this before, so i don't know how realistic this goal is).

Anyway, that's all for now. Hope y'all are doing well!

summer stuff

Hi! So I realized that I haven't updated this blog in a long, long time...so here I am with an update. The summer's been going by really quickly, and the wedding is fast approaching. The good thing for Nick and me is that we're almost done with the planning...we have the florist, photographer, baker, and we sent out the invitations, and ordered the wedding favors. We still need a DJ, but Nick will find one soon, hopefully. We also need to buy suits and rings, and also talk with Emily about the ceremony, but there's still time for that. We really can't believe that we're getting married in less than two months.

Oh, so our realtor contacted us and told us that housing prices in our area are going up, and that we might get a pretty good offer on our house right now. Nick and I are contemplating selling our house, assuming the offer is high enough to pay for the realtor fees and relocation fees. But we'll see about that and probably discuss this more with our realtor when we visit Kirkland the end of August.

For the 4th of July, Nick and I went to Catalina Island, which is located in the ocean south of Santa Monica. We took a ferry over there, and stayed there for two nights. We visited the memorial/garden, did the underwater semi-sub tour, a bus tour that took us through the mountains, and a half day trip to the other side of the island, which also included snorkeling and sightseeing. All in all, it was a very nice trip...but Nick and I are over watersports for a while.

Work has been very busy for the two of us, but more for Nick than me. I'm starting to understand more about my project and am able to provide constructive feedback, instead of being a sponge. Nick is currently up in Mountain View to meet with some people on his project and won't be back until Thursday night. And then he gets to go back up there next week, but this time for a shorter visit.

Kickball's been interesting. Our team isn't doing too poorly in our division, but have lost two games already. Hopefully we will win some more games so that we can make it into the playoffs, although, I'm not sure how I would feel if our team made it that far. I joined 'cuz I wanted to have fun outside of the office, but the competition environment really does make the game a little more intense than I would have liked. But that's cool...as long as people don't start pointing fingers at others for losses and everyone's having fun.

Ok, I'm gonna find some dessert now. Hope everyone's doing well!
