summer stuff
Hi! So I realized that I haven't updated this blog in a long, long time...so here I am with an update. The summer's been going by really quickly, and the wedding is fast approaching. The good thing for Nick and me is that we're almost done with the planning...we have the florist, photographer, baker, and we sent out the invitations, and ordered the wedding favors. We still need a DJ, but Nick will find one soon, hopefully. We also need to buy suits and rings, and also talk with Emily about the ceremony, but there's still time for that. We really can't believe that we're getting married in less than two months.
Oh, so our realtor contacted us and told us that housing prices in our area are going up, and that we might get a pretty good offer on our house right now. Nick and I are contemplating selling our house, assuming the offer is high enough to pay for the realtor fees and relocation fees. But we'll see about that and probably discuss this more with our realtor when we visit Kirkland the end of August.
For the 4th of July, Nick and I went to Catalina Island, which is located in the ocean south of Santa Monica. We took a ferry over there, and stayed there for two nights. We visited the memorial/garden, did the underwater semi-sub tour, a bus tour that took us through the mountains, and a half day trip to the other side of the island, which also included snorkeling and sightseeing. All in all, it was a very nice trip...but Nick and I are over watersports for a while.
Work has been very busy for the two of us, but more for Nick than me. I'm starting to understand more about my project and am able to provide constructive feedback, instead of being a sponge. Nick is currently up in Mountain View to meet with some people on his project and won't be back until Thursday night. And then he gets to go back up there next week, but this time for a shorter visit.
Kickball's been interesting. Our team isn't doing too poorly in our division, but have lost two games already. Hopefully we will win some more games so that we can make it into the playoffs, although, I'm not sure how I would feel if our team made it that far. I joined 'cuz I wanted to have fun outside of the office, but the competition environment really does make the game a little more intense than I would have liked. But that's cool...as long as people don't start pointing fingers at others for losses and everyone's having fun.
Ok, I'm gonna find some dessert now. Hope everyone's doing well!
Jerry Liu
